There are several options for attending any or all of the day’s events. The best & most economical choice for this option is the "All Day Pass.” If you wish to attend some workshops, just the showcase, or Jackie Allen’s concert, for example, we offer individual event pricing.

All Day Pass

"All Day Pass" includes ALL events of the day.  "All Day Pass" includes all events of the day, including  the morning social gathering, the panel discussion, both workshops, the master class, showcase performance, and evening concert.

Morning Sessions Only

The Morning Sessions price includes the opening social gathering, the panel discussion “Let’s Talk All Things Jazz in Today’s Performing World," and the workshop “Expanding Your Jazz Knowledge” with Art Lande. 

Panel Discussion: An open conversation on the concerns of today’s jazz vocalist, moderated by Ellyn Rucker with panelists, Wendy Fopeano and Robert Johnson. 

Workshop: a class for discussing details of the jazz song and analyzing a singer’s unique performance approach, led by Art Lande.

Vocal Master Class with Jackie Allen 

From A To Stage: Preparing for your professional debut !
"Whether you are an aspiring singer or want to go deeper into your craft, we all have areas of our knowledge with holes in them. We will explore a list of 20+ things to consider while preparing songs for the stage."

Guest clinician and recording artist Jackie Allen presents a 2-hour master class for singers, focusing on specific aspects of vocal jazz performance. This class is designed for participants who already have singing experience. Please bring two basic song charts in your specific keys, and note-taking materials. Participants* of this master class & the "Communicating with Your Band" workshop are invited to perform ONE song in the early evening showcase.

*(It is not required that you participate in the showcase)  Please note that the showcase is reserved for those who register for BOTH afternoon classes. (Master Class w/ Jackie Allen AND Communicating With Your Band)

Communicating With Your Band Workshop with Jeff Jenkins

This workshop will be presented by Jeff Jenkins along with a complete rhythm section.  

Singers and Rhythm Sections: Communicating With Your Band 

Vocalists and instrumentalists have a very special relationship. It can be an incredible partnership, but sometimes it can be contentious. Often the band and the singer approach the music with very different concepts and expectations. This clinic is about finding a common language, and clarifying what instrumentalists and vocalists need from each other, including how to communicate effectively with your band in performance. 

 Price - $50.00 (for Communicating With Your Band workshop only)

 Evening Concert featuring Jackie Allen 

We will conclude the SongBird Vocal Jazz Fest with an 8:00pm concert featuring our guest clinician, Jackie Allen, along with her rhythm section. Influenced by jazz, folk, and pop singers, Allen is perhaps best known for interpretations of classic jazz ballads: "There isn't another singer out there who phrases like her." (jazz critic Thom Jurek)

Price - $20 general admission, $14 student w/ID (for Jackie Allen evening concert only)

FAQ

Is there different pricing for youth or seniors? We have kept our pricing for this event low so hopefully it will be affordable for all; therefore, we are not discounting workshop prices for various age groups. We do have a student discount price for anyone with a valid student ID who would like to attend the evening concert only. 

Are there any scholarships available for the workshops/classes? Yes, we have some generous donors who will cover a percentage of the cost for up to three qualified attendees. For additional information on this option, please reach out on the contact page to explain your need for scholarship consideration. 

Can I get a refund if I cannot attend after registering? We offer a refund up to two weeks prior to the event date. You are also welcome to gift your registration to someone else if you can not attend. Please use the contact page to let us know if someone else will be attending under your registration. 

Can I schedule a private lesson with clinician Jackie Allen? Yes. Jackie will be available for a limited number of private sessions the day after the SongBird Vocal Jazz Fest. These lessons will take place in a different location. You may request additional information regarding fees and private lesson times via our contact page. 

Is there an age or experience requirement for any of the day's events? This event will be geared towards vocalists who have some to extensive singing experience. (For information regarding experience expectations, reach out via our contact page.) We ask that all workshop participants be age 16 or older. For both the Showcase concert and Jackie Allen's evening performance, audience members of all ages are warmly welcomed. 

Can I audio or video record the workshops or concerts? No recordings are allowed. Taking photographs  is welcome. 

Will there be food available at the event venue?  We will provide free coffee and water throughout the day. Pastries and snacks will be provided as part of the opening social hour. Snacks and drinks will be offered for sale during the showcase and evening concert. . The Muse Performance Space is located near several restaurants and fast food establishments for your convenience.
